Is there anything sweeter in this world than a peacefully slumbering baby?
I don't think so! Here are some pictures of my beautiful little sleeper.

Gotta love the little bum in the air! I simply have to pat it every time I am near.
Please don't judge me for the fact that he is on his tummy. I know that it is recommended that babies sleep on their backs. Believe me, I've done the reading and the research, talked with Blake's pediatrician and his GI specialist, prayed and tried everything under the sun (sleep wedges, side sleeping, the boppy, car seat sleeping, swaddling, propping up his mattress, and much, much more!) and in the end I learned what turned out to be a powerful lesson for me.
Trust my mother's intuition, and the peace that comes from the spirit.
I think that maybe the loads and loads of information and research and rules that come with parenting today can dull our intuition and trust in the spirit, if we're not careful.
The fact of the matter is that Blake simply cannot sleep in any other way. Even when on a steep incline, his reflux makes him chock and gag, wake up constantly, and hurt. But when laid on his tummy, he generally sleeps very comfortably. He needs his sleep. And so do I. :) So, my baby is a tummy sleeper. And after a couple of months of turmoil and a little bit of guilt, I'm at peace with this decision. Which is why I'm finally posting some pictures of my sleeping little angel.
Awww....
Good night, sleep tight, everyone!
My kids were tummy sleepers too. The pictures are so precious!
ReplyDeleteTrust your instincts, it's true! My kids were tummy sleepers too because they just slept better that way, and eventually I felt good about it too. Too bad I couldn't just feel good about it in the beginning...
