Today, something happened that has never happened in our three years of living here.
Gerald's school was closed for a SNOW DAY! Woot! Woot!
Katelee's school was cancelled as well, of course, and everything else on the calendar was crossed off!
Instead, we had a marvelous day stuck at home.
We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast, a rare treat since church this year is at 9 a.m. and I teach at 9 on Saturdays now. Admist doing laundry and dishes, we also found time to watch Tangled together, play board games, bake homemade Oreo cookies, write letters to our favorite princesses, play with and read to Blake, work on Valentines, play balloon ping pong, build forts, read stories, and OF COURSE, play in the snow!
That is water I've colored with food coloring - she is using it to paint in the snow. She loved this! Katelee has never played in the snow for so long. (What a fun idea - thank you pinterest!),
This picture shows you how deep the snow was today at noon - and it's STILL snowing tonight! 16 inches in the last 24 hours, and more coming - wow!
All home together with nowhere to go - one of my favorite kind of days ever!
We love you, snow day. Come again soon!
