Four Months

Yesterday, Blake turned four months old!
These past four months have gone by so quickly!

Blake is getting so big! Aurianna & Jake, if you want to know how big Blake is getting in comparison to your jean blankets, he is 6 squares plus about another inch long when he stretches out.
We went to the doctor today for Blake's check-up. He now weighs 14 pounds and 8 ounces and is 24.75 inches long. He has become very drooly, and we wonder if we might start seeing teeth soon.
Blake loves to smile, will laugh when we are silly, and is going to start eating his first solid foods TOMORROW! He has noticed his paintings above his crib lately, and loves to look at them. He'll lay contentedly and coo and stare at them for several minutes.Blake still loves to stand on his strong little legs, and he is a pro at holding up his head like a big boy. He loves his toy monkey, dragon fly, and his Beep! Beep! book.He is starting to reach for toys and loves to grasp his toys and shake them around. He also loves to try to hold his own bottle; his little hands are always there next to ours on the bottle helping us hold it up.
He loves watching his sister play and loves to 'fly' around like a little airplane. He gives the best, slobbery baby kisses and lately when I sing to him he'll coo along like he's singing with me - so adorable! He has the sweetest baby voice and loves to babble and coo and talk to us.We get comments everywhere we go about how much Blake looks like his daddy. Sometimes it's from friends who know he is adopted, but often it's from complete strangers who have no idea. We just smile, but we love it. There's no doubt in our minds that our sweet Blake is meant to be part of our family. Blake got some shots this morning, and this afternoon he was feeling really sad and we could tell he was in pain. Gerald gave him a blessing, we got him some medicine, and I put him in a warm bath. The poor little man was trying hard to be happy, and as he was in his bath I was singing softly to him. He was smiling at me even as he still had tears in his eyes and his lips were still quivering. At that moment, I just couldn't believe how much I loved this sweet, brave, loving little baby and I was overwhelmed by what a privilege it is to be his mother. We love you Blake!
You continue to bless our family every day.

  2. He does look like his dad! That's what I was thinking, and then you wrote it. How exciting for you to have him in your family.
    Good luck with a new-to-you car. :)
