FSA Christmas Party

We've mentioned FSA (Families Supporting Adoption) before. This is a group of families who, like us, love adoption. Anyone affected by adoption can be part of FSA. Some of them have placed children for adoption, many have adopted children themselves, and some are like us: hoping for adoption. Yesterday we had a Christmas Party with our local FSA, and I was filled again with love for these wonderful people and with love for adoption.

Gerald couldn't make it; he has so much work to do at school in preparation for final presentations and finals coming up quickly. So, Katelee and I went together. It was up north, about an hour away, and the drive was very pretty. It was fun to explore a new area we hadn't been to before. We enjoyed lunch and wonderful conversation with friends. Katelee had the time of her life! She loves the friends she has made through FSA. I love that my children will grow up being close friends with other families who have been touched by adoption. Katelee and the other children loved running around and playing tag.

The kids also made handprint Christmas tree ornaments. Katelee's turned out so darling!
And every child had a ball creating gingerbread (graham cracker) houses. Katelee designed and built this house, with a little help from me and more than a little snacking and sampling of the building supplies. :)

Katelee and I also loved holding a few of the new babies that have recently been adopted by couples in our area. They were so, so adorable. Katelee couldn't get enough of them; I could hardly get her to eat her lunch because she was so interested in the babies around us! Ha ha! Guess that means it's really time for another one in our home.

As we continue our search for the baby that is meant for our family, we want to thank all our friends and family for your support and help. We have been overwhelmed by all you've done: from the number of you who have posted our button on your blog, handed out our pass along cards, put an announcement in your ward newsletter, or just simply told other people about us. Thank you! And we ask for your continued help! Please let us know if you need more cards to pass out; we'll send them right off. Some of you have passed out 5, 6 or more! Wow! We also appreciate anyone who can put our adoption blog button on their website or blog. But, really the best way of spreading the word is just to tell others about us. Tell your bishop, your friends, your family, the chatty lady behind you at the checkout line, anyone! You never know who might know of someone considering placing a baby for adoption. Thanks!
