Are you REALLY surprised?

The bride and groom were married at noon, so instead of a wedding luncheon, they chose to have a wedding breakfast.  It was a beautiful, crisp morning.  The food was delicious.  Everything looked beautiful.  We were all visiting and having a wonderful time.  The kids finished eating and ran off to play as the adults lingered and talked.  Suddenly we heard Katelee crying, loudly.  She had taken a dive on the parking lot asphalt - face first.  When I got to her, she was bleeding quite a bit.  I tried to comfort her while not getting any blood on my wedding clothes.  The ouchie was on her forehead, and at first glance it looked terrible.  We cleaned it up as best we could and it still looked bad.  Gerald's aunt, who was a nurse, was there, and she said it called for stitches.  Of course.  Great timing, eh?  Well, we definitely did not want to miss the sealing, and Katelee was acting happy again, so we went to the temple first.  The sealing was absolutely beautiful and peaceful and very, very lovely.  After pictures outside the temple, we rushed Katelee to our neighborhood urgent care, where I know all the doctors personally by name.  After looking it over, it was decided it wasn't quite deep enough for stitches, so they used glue to close it up and covered it with stereo-strips.     The urgent care took quite awhile, as it always does, so I was then stressed to transport the wedding cake to the reception and get it put together and finished in time.  But everything worked out in the end.  Poor, Katelee...as always, she handled everything very well and was such a trooper!

Here she is in the car right after the urgent care visit.

Outside the reception, modeling her beautiful dress and her new owie.

Do you believe that there is a quota for the total number of injuries one person will receive in life?  If so, she must be getting close, right?

  1. hahaha, that poor girl. Poor you, too. You would think she's getting close to reaching her quota, but who knows. She'll probably make up for other people who never get hurt and reach their quota's too!

  3. hhmmmm, it makes me think of a certain ridiculously popular book series, where one character's number is up in a certain geographical area, but is completely safe in another geographical area. Maybe Katelee is allergic to Utah and will be the picture of perfect health in CO!

  4. maybe she was trying to meet her quota in a place where you know all the Dr.'s names.
